Cara and James - Lodge on Loch Lomond

On Sunday the 10th July, I got to photograph the wedding of my beautiful niece Cara as she said her vows to her handsome fiancee James.  The wedding from start to finish ran smoother than a babys bum. From what I could see it was all down to Cara's meticulous planning (she is a school teacher after all) and the help from both of their parents and families.  Cara and her bridesmaids and mum met me in their matching tops  at their local hairdressers Cutz in Old Kilpatrick.  The bridesmaids and Cara all had their make up done by Karen McKinley of Blushbox there also.  Afterwards we left to go to my brothers house for the ladies to finish getting ready. As all the girls continued getting ready Gerry sat and watched the tennis (oh how Id love to be a man).   Cara took not only my breath away but also her dads as he walked down the stairs after being the last one ready. Yep he's definitely my brother.  Everything from her Anne Priscilla Dress, Jimmy Choo Shoes and jewellery from Dower & Hall were stunning and her bouquet from Dream Day Flowers just complimented her beautifully.  As the bridesmaids gathered to take a selfie with the bride they equally looked gorgeous in their royal blue dresses from Coast.  The anticipation built as the neighbours gathered outside to take their own snaps of the bride on the way to the ceremony.  The rain was on but luckily the fab drivers from Ultimate Car Hire were there with their umbrellas to save the bride and her maids getting even a tiny bit wet.  At the Venue, the stunning Lodge on Loch Lomond, James waited patiently.  He looked very handsome in his dapper Ted Baker suit from Slaters.  The groomsmen also wearing Ted Baker but this time from Moss Bros scrubbed up well too.  The ceremony performed by humanist Craig Flowers included drinking champagne from a quaich and a traditional hand fasting aswell as the more traditional giving of rings (Rings were by Smooch). The ceremony was filled with love and laughter and afterwards guests congregated in the lounge to congratulate the new Mr & Mrs Brown.  Guests were treated to a jaunt on the aptly named Beau Jangles whilst pictures were being taken.  Afterwards the speeches and the cake cut were done before the wonderful meal.  The cake looked absolutely delicious which was from the McDonald Cake Company.  My brothers speech was short but got to the point about how proud he was of Cara and her determination,  this could be seen throughout the day as a spot of rain didn't put  her off not only going outside but getting her shot on the luxury boat.  James in his speech spoke of how amazed he was by Cara and felt that he rode on her coat-tails of brilliance.  I choked up at this point.  Luckily Andy the best man stood up to slag off his best friend and bring some laughs to the guests.  After the scrumptious meal guests watched Cara and James do their first waltz as husband and wife  before being treated to a rocking set by the band Ernest. They really did have everyone out their seats and dancing along with them, they even allowed one of the guests to go up and have a sing song.  The atmosphere continued out on the porch as an amazing fireworks display was given by 21CC.  Including a beautiful heart with J + C blazing upon it.  Afterwards everyone continued dancing until the wee small hours.  Fabulous day for a Fabulous couple.  Congratulations James & Cara Brown!!! I know my mum, Cara's granny would have been watching and so proud of her marrying the love of her life!
